….I samarbeid med Bortelid utmarkslag jobber Åseral kommune med et omfattende prosjekt for å omstille Bortelid til et fremtidsrettet og bærekraftig reisemål. Prosjektet bygger på GNIST-programmet, med fokus på å realisere fire utviklingsfaser: sentrumsutvikling, støtte- og delefunksjoner, naturrestaurering og klimanøytrale hytter. Målet er å skape et hytteområde med lavt miljøavtrykk, samtidig som flere kan bruke hyttene gjennom hele året.

In collaboration with Bortelid Utmarkslag, Åseral Municipality is working on an extensive project to transform Bortelid into a forward-looking and sustainable tourism destination. The project is based on the GNIST program, a previous project, and focuses on implementing four development phases: center development, support and sharing functions, nature restoration, and climate-neutral cabins. The goal is to create a cabin community with a low environmental footprint, while allowing more people to enjoy the cabins year-round.

….Kommunen har tre alpinanlegg fordelt på tre ulike områder, der Bortelid er det klart største. Bortelid har rundt 1500 fritidsboliger fordelt på hytter og leiligheter, i tillegg til campingplass. Midt i området ligger et mindre, eldre skisenter med fem skitrekk. Det finnes butikk, ladestasjon/drivstoffstasjon og et lite servicesenter i sentrumsområdet. .. The municipality has three ski resorts spread across three different areas, with Bortelid being the largest by far. Bortelid has around 1,500 holiday homes, consisting of cabins and apartments, in addition to a campground. In the center of the area, there is a smaller, older ski resort with five lifts. The area also includes a store, a charging/fuel station, and a small service center in the central village. ….

….Bortelid har rundt 120 km skiløyper og turveger, gapahuker, sykkelcross og sykkelløyper, badestrand, sykkel - og kanoutleige, klatre / buldrevegg, minigolf, frisbeegolf, skiskytterarena, lysløype og rulleskiløype. Langt inne i heia ligger Gluggen kafe som er åpen i vinterferien og påska. .. Bortelid offers approximately 120 km of ski trails and hiking paths, shelters, bike cross and cycling trails, a beach, bike and canoe rentals, a climbing/bouldering wall, mini-golf, frisbee golf, a biathlon arena, a lit ski trail, and a roller ski trail. Deep in the wilderness, you'll find Gluggen Café, which is open during the winter break and Easter. ….
