I dag er Bortelid et turistsentrum med ca 1300 fritidsboliger. Bortelid kan skilte med et rikt utvalg av aktiviteter for store og små. Butikker, moderne helårscamping, et av de beste alpinanleggene på Sørlandet, over 120 km preparerte skiløyper, lysløype, flombelyst familiebakke med kveldskjøring, skicrossløype og skiband for de minste. Bortelid benyttes om sommeren til aktiviteter som fjellturer, fiske, bading, kanopadling og mountain bike. ..Bortelid is an attractive mountain resort all year round, centrally located in southern Norway and it is one of the three winter sports destinations in the municipality Åseral in Vest-Agder. The mountainous area around Bortelid is part of the nature conversation area Setesdalsheiene on a height of ca. 800 m.a.s.l. In former times Bortelid was a secluded valley, which primarily has been used for alpine farming. Until today Bortelid has developed to be a touristic mountain resort with round about 1300 leisure cabins and a campsite. Bortelid offers a wide choice of activities in both winter and summer. It is one of the biggest alpin ski resorts in southern Norway, offers 120 km well prepared cross-country trails as well as a floodlit trail and floodlit alpine tracks, a ski cross slope and a skiing area for beginners. In summer, Bortelid appears as a mountain paradise for hiking, cycling, orienteering, paddling, bathing, fishing or just relaxing. ….
